Loss of Archive
My apologies for the recent problems with the archive. My webhost keeps has managed to mess up this site TWICE this month. I'm hoping they have resolved whatever problems were causing this mess and everything will settle down.

THANK YOU!
I wanted to say a big THANK YOU to everyone for being so supportive of me when I was feeling so upset a few months back.

I'd allowed a few nasty comments to suck some of the enjoyment out of writing but the support from everyone has been wonderful. I've managed to put those comments in the 'troll' category where they belong thanks to all of you.

THANK YOU!

Busy Busy Busy
If it seems very quiet here then it's not because I have stopped writing. I've been writing a LOT of Stargate Atlantis (David Hewlett) fics in recent months so you might want to check out that archive :-)

eFiction 3.2
Just finished upgrading to the latest version. Let me know if there are any new problems :-)

Deleting Archives
Decision: I've decided to keep this archive as most of the stories are so old that I really don't care that they are rarely read anymore. I'll leave them here for the reader wanting a trip down memory lane.

***

I'm in a quandary at the moment.

I've put a lot of time and effort into writing fanfiction over the years but I am very aware that I am not the best of writers - otherwise I'd have enjoyed the same level of recognition as other writers in those various fandoms. In particular, it was drawn to my attention recently that my Stargate Atlantis stories suck - big time.

Bloody IE
FIXED! with a small compromise

I've upgraded this archive to eFiction 3.0.1. Of course everything looks wonderful in Firefox but IE is being the usual pain in the ass and misaligning sections if the overall window size is less than 1024.

FIXED at last!!
I have finally figured out why the category option was failing to align properly in Internet Explorer. It all looks good to me now :-)

New fixes
I've upgraded the archive to eFiction 2.0.7. Had to modify a few pages to make the layout work in as many browsers as possible, and to add some useful features such as the SERIES information within a story.

Had some problems with being spammed on the 'challenges' link but the eFiction forum had a great mod that will have fixed that.

Problem Encountered
This is a new one... suddenly, all the HTML is being printed as text rather than being executed... all those ;amp, nbsp etc. Until I resolve this I am going to have to avoid using html on the front page. Major Problem... it has affected the links to titles in the 'recent stories' box on the front page too - though only in Internet Explorer. I'm too tired to keep at trying to fix it tonight.

David Hewlett

I've created a new archive to hold all my David Hewlett stories, one that I can attach easily to my David Hewlett Archive

I'll be leaving those stories already loaded onot this archive in place - in case anyone is linking to them - but future stories will be uploaded to the David Hewlett archive ONLY.
